Office for International Cooperation and Rural Development of the Municipalities Tovarnik, Nijemci, Tompojevci, Lovas and Town Ilok.
In Summer 2005 four East Slavonian municipalities - Tovarnik, Nijemci, Tompojevci and Lovas have founded a joint Office for International Cooperation aiming to upgrade contribution to the social and economic development of their communities through a more intensive and improved cooperation with domestic and international institutions. Town Ilok has joined them recently.
Availability ofgrants from both domestic and international sources, especially EU fonds, has directed the activity of the Office towards development of project of common benefit. Besides their financial effects, these projects have contributed to education and provision of skills to local people those preparing them for future use of European fonds for economic restructuring, improvement of infrastructure and better social inclusion. In a short period, Office acquired good reputation in larger region becoming an important participant of the process of regional development and a recognized promoter of regional potentials.
