Round tables on rural development

In mid November 2011 two round tables were organise to present and discuss actual situation regarding the implementation of LEADER approach in Croatia – in Skrad for rural stakholders from South and West Croatia, and in Osijek for those from the continental part.

The utmost attention of the participants, mainly LAGs' and future LAGs' representatives , was dedicated to the explication of the newest proposal of the Ordinance for implementation of the Measure 202 of the IPARD Plan or LEADER Measure presented by the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development and of the Paying Agency. The first allocattion of the pre-accession support for LAG's activities may be expected in mid 2012.

The issues of financial support to LAGs, relation with local and regional authorities and good LEADER practices were also on the agenda. In Skrad, examples of good practice were presented by Milan Mesić from LAG Vallis Colapis and from three Slovenian LAGs, members of the Slovenian Rural Development Network.  In Osijek, a film on good practices of a few Croatian LAGs prepared in collaboration of Slap and ODRAZ, both HMRR members, had its first run.

The round table in Skrad was organised by LAG Gorski kotar in cooperation with the HMRR. The organisers of the Osijek gathering were HMRR, Slap and TINTL. In both cases financial support was provided by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
